If you go to gym you most probably have heard or seen something about pre workout.
What is pre workout exactly? Pre workout is a supplement a person would take prior/during their workouts to perform at a higher level than they usually would if they didn’t take pre workout. This supplement is mostly comprised of caffeine, pump products and other ingredients that can be found on the labeling.

Pre workout in a nutshell boosts your energy levels when training, this is achieved with 4 commonly used ingredients: caffeine, beta-alanine, creatine, and amino acids.
Caffeine= This compound is a central nervous system stimulant that heightens your senses resulting in increased energy levels
Beta-alanine= Along with antioxidant properties, amongst other things. It increases one’s performance to increase your ability of training as well as reducing muscular fatigue experienced
Creatine= This is a chemical naturally produced in the body that allows us to utilize energy, however it is known to have the ability to supply additional energy to the muscle allowing the body to train harder for longer
Amino Acids= These help the body to grow, break down food, and repair any bodily tissues. In this instance it’s used to repair muscle tissue meaning you can recover quicker from your exercises and train harder. Amino Acids are also naturally produced in the body
Pre workout has its benefits and side effects which are listed below.
Benefits of pre workout supplement:
1- Improves one’s energy levels when consumed before/during a workout
2- Assists with your recovery post-workout
3- Reduces chances of training and sustaining an injury
4- If consumed prior to the workout it will give the body more energy to be prepared for the work out

Side effects of pre workout supplement:
1- May cause headaches
2- There will be an increase in water retention of the body
3- May become jittery when consumed because of the high amounts
