Make Winter Evenings a bit more Comforting

Winter is here 🙁 and so is the desire to have something warm, tasty and comforting.

I have two ideas that might just make winter evenings a little bit more comforting, and easier to get through.

What to do with Veg:

Gem Squash is one of the vegetables which we often assume to be higher in calories and carb count then for instance Spinach or Broccoli.

Well good news, it is not…. Unlike Butternut of other White Skin Pumpkin.

100g Broccoli – Cal: 34, Prot: 2.82g, Fat: 0.37g, Carb: 6.64g

100g Squash – Cal: 25, Prot: 1.75g, Fat: 0.19g. Carb: 3.36g

FANTASTIC!!!!

Add some sea salt and sweetener of your choice (I use the original Canderelle) and you have a delicious, sweet and comforting veg to have with your portion of Protein and Starchy Carb.

Feel like Hot Chocolate:

250ml Fat Free Milk (only 90 cal)

Heat in Microwave and add 1 or 2 teaspoons of Cocoa Powder.

Any pure Cocoa Powder for baking will be fine. (1 teaspoon only has only about 8 Calories) and some sweetener and you have a cup of lovely hot chocolate.
